From Our Corridors to Michigan: Alumna Suhani Chovishya of the Batch of 2025 Guided Emeralites Through the Art of Building a Strong Portfolio

What makes a portfolio stand out in a university application?

Takshashila – The Centre for Career and Global Studies hosted a Portfolio Walkthrough with Emerald Heights alumna Suhani Chovishya of the Batch of 2025, currently studying at the University of Michigan.
Drawing from her own application journey, Suhani walked students through her architecture portfolio and shared practical insights on storytelling, structure, visual presentation and showcasing the creative process.
The session became even more valuable as students received personalised feedback, with Suhani reviewing their individual portfolios, themes and projects.
More than just a lesson in design, the session offered students an inside perspective on how a strong portfolio can communicate ideas, personality and the thinking behind the work.
