Emeralites, Suhani Talreja, Unnati Goenka and Veer Jain participated in the prestigious AFS Intercultural Exchange Program in New Zealand

Emeralites, Suhani Talreja, Unnati Goenka of Class-XI and Veer Jain of Class-X had the exceptional opportunity to participate in the prestigious AFS Intercultural Exchange Program in New Zealand from 22 April to 09 May 2025. This transformative journey allowed them to explore a new culture, form global connections, and gain unique life experiences.

During the program, the students lived with host families, attended local schools, and immersed themselves in the natural beauty and cultural richness of the country. They visited Auckland, Rotorua, Tokoroa, Tauranga, and Pukekohe. Highlights of the trip included exploring the world-famous Hobbiton Movie Set, luging, mini golf, mountain hikes, and learning to drive a ship.

A particularly meaningful part of their journey was living in a marae, a traditional Māori meeting ground, where they experienced Māori customs, learned about the Māori way of life, and participated in cultural activities. They also engaged in woodworking sessions, further deepening their understanding of local traditions and craftsmanship.

This cultural exchange not only enriched their global perspective but also fostered personal growth and lifelong friendships. We are incredibly proud of our students for representing our school with curiosity, respect, and open hearts on the global stage.
