Emeralite Iram Khan, an AFS India Scholarship Student (2024-25), to USA is performing at the prestigious urban storytelling event Arctic Entries

We are delighted to share that Emeralite Iram Khan currently attending school in the USA on a full scholarship under the AFS  Kennedy Lugar-Youth Exchange and Study Program, achieved a significant milestone by performing at the prestigious urban storytelling event, Arctic Entries, on 14th January 2025.

The theme of the January show was “Now or Never: Stories of Indecision, Ultimatums, and Leaps of Faith.” At this monthly performance, held from September to May at the Alaska Center for the Performing Arts in Downtown Anchorage, seven storytellers share true, personal, and heartfelt 7-minute stories, captivating audiences with a mix of humor, emotion, and inspiration.

Arctic Entries, often referred to as Alaska’s version of “Tape A Tale” in India, is a platform for Alaskans to volunteer and share their personal experiences, much like a local TED Talk. It had been a long-time dream for Iram to perform on such a stage.
Iram’s journey to this performance was remarkable. She initially pitched her story through the Arctic Entries website, after which volunteer story coaches reached out to learn more about her narrative. Impressed by her story, they presented it to the board, and she was ultimately selected to perform.
We are immensely proud of Iram’s determination, storytelling skills, and courage to share her unique perspective on such a distinguished platform.
