22 April marks the 55th anniversary of Earth Day, a global movement dedicated to raising awareness about environmental protection and sustainability.
At The Emerald Heights International School, our young environmentalists from Nursery to Class II became little eco-warriors by taking part in enjoyable, hands-on activities that helped them connect with nature and understand their role in protecting the planet.
Activities such as seed germination, creating seed bombs, and making a compost pit—undertaken by students of Nursery, LKG, and UKG, respectively—taught them how small actions can contribute to a greener tomorrow, as well as how waste can be reduced to nourish the Earth.
There were speeches highlighting the importance of Earth Day, ways to save our living planet through various resources, and our collective commitment to its betterment. Melodious songs were sung by the students of UKG, Class I, and II, pledging our allegiance towards a sustainable Mother Earth.
Earth Day reminds us that every small step—like planting a tree, reducing plastic use, or saving water—can lead to significant change. It is a day to celebrate the beauty of our planet and commit to protecting it, not just today, but every day.
Let us work together—as children and adults—to build a cleaner, greener future for all.
Happy Earth Day!
