We are very proud to share that Emeralites, Avni Kaur Chadha of Class-XII and Manveer Pratap Rathore of Class-X brought laurels to the state by securing their spots in the Team India Debate 2025.

Avni Kaur Chadha and Manveer Pratap Rathore will be representing India at the World Schools Debating Championship 2025 in Panama. They have been selected as part of a team of 5 students from India after 5 rounds of selection, and a selection rate of less than 0.9%, with more than 3000 students from across the country applying to be a part of the team.

Notably, Avni and Manveer are the only two students from the same school to make it to the team in the same year.
The World Schools Debating Championship is the pinnacle of school debating, held annually by different countries across the globe. Over 65 countries come to the World Schools Debating Championship, which features 8 preliminary rounds, and 6 outrounds leading to the Final. Historically, India has been one of the most successful nations at the WSDC, having won it in 2019 and being finalists multiple times. This year, the Championship will be held in July in Panama, where the students will be headed to. They will receive world-class coaching and feature in multiple other online competitions leading up to the WSDC such as UPenn WSDC, Mexico Pre-WSDC, etc.

Heartiest congratulations to Avni, Manveer and their mentors for the outstanding achievement. We wish them the very best as they embark on this exciting journey to represent India on the global stage.
