Our distinguished alumna, Col. Tashi Thapliyal (Batch of 2002), along with Lt. Col. Anubha Upreti, were recently featured as speakers at Barkha Dutt’s “We The Women” Festival held in Mumbai.
On stage, they shared powerful insights from their journey in the Armed Forces, saying, “We ride on passion. And we are living a life that’s less ordinary.” Their presence brought pride and inspiration, embodying courage, discipline, and an unyielding sense of duty.
Curated and moderated by award-winning journalist Barkha Dutt, “We The Women” is a platform that celebrates conversation, community, and change makers across sectors.
This edition placed a special spotlight on Women in Uniform, with women soldiers and air warriors from the Army and the IAF participating as symbols of service and strength.
In conversation with Dutt, both officers reflected on what it means for women to join the Army—challenging conventions, embracing purpose, and leading with resilience. They remarked, “Wearing the uniform is the ultimate expression of duty for the nation,” a sentiment that beautifully captured their pride in service.
Their words and experiences stood as a tribute to breaking barriers, inspiring future generations, and demonstrating what it means to live a life dedicated to the nation.
