Emerald Heights Achieves a Remarkable Milestone by Winning the Grand Finale of the Macmillan Budding Scientist 2025–26 Held at IIT Delhi, Securing a Cash Prize of ₹25,000

The Emerald Heights International School has achieved a remarkable milestone by winning the Grand Finale of the Macmillan Budding Scientist 2025–26, held at IIT Delhi. The team was also awarded a cash prize of ₹25,000.

We are immensely proud of our brilliant team, Aashka Gupta, Aarav Gaggar, and Nav Jain of Class IX, for their outstanding project, Borewell Rescue Operation (BRO).

Borewell Rescue Operation (BRO) focuses on developing a rescue robot designed to save children trapped in borewells faster and more safely than traditional methods. It represents a powerful step toward using technology to save lives, because every second matters and every life is priceless.
Unlike conventional side-digging techniques, this pulley-based retractable system can reach the child quickly, significantly reducing rescue time and increasing the chances of survival. The model aims to minimize risk, prevent delays, and bring hope in critical situations. Through innovation and purposeful design, this robot transforms accidents into rescue opportunities and envisions a future where no child is lost in a borewell again.
Earlier, the same team, while in Class VIII, brought great honour to the school by securing First Position in the Macmillan Budding Scientist Competition at IIT Bombay.
Competing against 485 teams, our young innovators emerged as one of the Top 8 teams from the West Zone and went on to clinch 1st place in the Grand Finale, a truly exceptional achievement that highlights their scientific temperament, creativity, and collaborative spirit.
Their success is a shining example of curiosity in action and excellence in execution.
Heartiest congratulations to Aashka, Aarav, Nav, and their mentors for this phenomenal accomplishment. They have made the entire Emerald Heights family immensely proud.
