Emeralite Secured Runner-up Position in the 31st edition of the Oliphant Memorial Inter-School Debate 2021 organized by Welham Boys’ School, Dehradun

In the 31st edition of the Oliphant Memorial Inter-School Debate 2021 organized by Welham Boys’ School, Dehradun on digital platform, our debate team comprising of Tanishk Gupta, Purab Seth and Ovi Kulkarni of Class-XII secured the runner-up position.

Our team ranked first throughout the prelimary rounds, where motions surrounded isolationist tendencies, nationalism of social media and Liberalization of trade and, in the semi-finals they debated over natural rights of sentient AI.

The final round was on the topic, “Protective Parents harm children”, where our team represented the opening government.

Our team competed against prestigious schools from across the country including The Doon School, Bishop Cotton School, The Assam Valley School, Welham Boys’ School, The Scindia School, Mayo College, MGD Girls’ School, Pingrove School, La Mrtinere College among other.
