Emeralite Deep Munim will represent India at the Junior Davis Cup to be held in Malaysia

Deep Munim Class-XI of the Emerald Heights is selected to represent India at the Junior Davis Cup to be held at Kuching, Malaysia from April 5th to 10th, 2020. He will be the 1st player from Madhya Pradesh to play Junior Davis Cup.

Junior Davis Cup by BNP Paribas is an international team competition for boys in the 16 and under age category. Nations enter regional qualifying events with the winners progressing to the Finals, where they compete to be crowned champion. Junior Davis Cup and Junior Fed Cup by BNP Paribas were launched by the ITF in 1985 as the 16-and-under World Youth Cup, and rebranded in 2002. BNP Paribas has been title sponsor of the Junior Davis Cup since 2002, before going on to sponsor Junior Fed Cup in 2005. The Finals have been held in 15 countries in the competition’s 32-year history. Many of the world’s leading tennis stars have taken part in Junior Davis Cup, including Jim Courier, Michael Chang, Goran Ivanisevic, Gustavo Kuerten, Marat Safin, Roger Federer, Lleyton Hewitt, Andy Roddick and Rafael Nadal.

Deep won the Bronze medal in singles while representing Madhya Pradesh at 65th SGFI National School Games Tennis Under-17 Boys and Girls Tournament held at Karnal, Haryana from November 28 to December 01, 2019. He became the first player from MP to be selected for Khelo India Youth Games 2020 held at Guwahati, Assam in Tennis boys category.

Deep also emerged as a runner-up in singles and doubles categories at the AITA National Series Under-16 held at Ahmedabad, Gujarat. In this national series tournament Top-60 players from the country participates.

Deep also represented India at the Asian Junior Team Championship in Doha, Qatar held from December 23-28, 2018 and secured first position.
