Gunjan Dodwani Class-VIII of the Emerald Heights International School were awarded at German Ambassy, New Delhi for securing 2nd position at the Painting Competition organised by Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH (Indo German Development Cooperation) in collaboration with The Emerald Heights International School, Madhya Pradesh Cricket Association (MPCA), NHDC Ltd. (A Government of India Undertaking) and Madhya Pradesh Urja Vikas Nigam Limited in our school on July 29, 2019.
The competition was organised under Group-A for the students of Classes VI to VIII on the topic, “Do Your Part, Be Energy Smart, Reduce, Reuse and Recycle”, to create awareness among school students about sustainable development. The competition was held in two phases, school level and stadium level wherein more than 1800 students from 150 government and private schools of Indore participated and best 3 paintings were selected.
The first three winners were finally awarded at German Embassy, New Delhi on November 27, 2019 jointly by Prof. Dr. Claudia Warning, Director General for the Middle East Asia, Latin America, South Eastern and Easter Europe, Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development, Germany and Dr. C. S. Mohapatra, Additional Secretary, Department of Economic Affairs (DEA), Ministry of Finance, Government of India.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Claudia congratulated the participants for qualifying as winners out of 8,000 students. She said that these children are our future and she is very optimistic that these little agents will bring great change in the society. Dr. Mohapatra also congratulated the students and asked them to continue with their mission of energy and environment conservation.
