Achievements

Our students won the 50th Platinum Jubilee All India Online English Debate Competition held from September 07-11, 2020. The competition was organised by Birla Public School, Pilani, Rajasthan. Our team consisted of Aadil Zakarya and Aashka Zaveri of Class-XII, Purab Seth Class-X, and Madiha Hassan Class-XII as the researcher. Aadil was declared as the Best Speaker of the final round and the entire debate.

Our students participated in the Acropolis Knowledge Conclave 2020 organised by Mount Litera Zee School, Amritsar. The school’s debate team, comprising of XI graders -Tanishk Gupta and Purab Seth- qualified for the semi-finals where they beat the Indian Public School, Amritsar and Sunbeam School, Lahartara. The students made it to finals, against Mayo College Girls’ School, Ajmer, eventually defeating them and winning the tournament.

Emerald Heights secured first runner-up position (Overall) at Quiz-O-Pedia, a national level virtual quiz competition organized and hosted by Jayshree Periwal Global School, Jaipur Rajasthan. It was a 10 weeks event with 16 preliminary rounds and finally the Rapid fire round. The winners were –

Our students secured third position in the inter school quiz competition organized by Reserve Indore M.P. Police Organization under Eicher Group Foundation and Indore Traffic Police on “Yatayat Jaagrukta”. The competition was organized at Pritamlal Dua Sabhagraha, Indore, M.P. on February 03, 2021 during National Road Safety Month, from January 18 to February 17, 2021. Team consisted of –

Emerald Heights wins COMFEST 2K20, an exclusive inter school online event organized and hosted by Little Angels High School, Gwalior, M.P. from December 18-22, 2020. Our student secured third position at the Pan-India in a Storytelling Competition (English) at the first edition of Children’s Literature, Art and Music Festival held from November 20-29, 2020 in Bhopal, M.P. The event has been one of the biggest online children’s literature festival of the year as it was witnessed by more than one million viewers across twenty countries. His story title was, “The Story of Two Yogis”. It is worthwhile to note that Manveer was the only participant from Indore across categories in the merit list.

Siddham Jain Class-X and Riddhi Motwani Class-IX of the Emerald Heights International School bagged Gold and Silver medal respectively in the junior category in the international online competition, The Cathedral Mathematics Competition. The competition was organized by The Cathedral and John Connon School from August 01-02, 2020 for senior and junior categories.

Quanisha Saboo Class-XI of the Emerald Heights was recognized with an Honorable Mention Speaker Award for her strong individual performance in the national tournament at the Speech and Debate India’s Virtual National Tournament series recently on the topic, Future Education out of over 400 students from top schools across India. She also led her team to win a High Potential Team Award at the National Tournament in the High School Division. Quanisha also received Sportsmanship Award and 5th Place High Potential Team Award at the National Tournament and Western Regional Tournament respectively in the High School Division.

Emerald Heights bagged third position in the Virtual Worldwise Inter School Whiz Fest Championship 2020 organized from August 22-23, 2020. Our students won awards in three events out of five categories In Mock Interview, Lakshya Talreja and Bhaskar Pareek Class-IX secured runner-up position. In Video Making, Vipul Mediratta and Trisha A Class-IX, and Shriya Agnihotri Class-VIII secured runner-up position. In Creative Writing Sarthak Rathi Class-IX secured runner-up position.

Purab Seth and Tanishk Gupta Class-XI and Sambhav Kataria Class-X of the Emerald Heights won the Virtual Debate Competition against Mayo College Girls School, Ajmer in the finals at the 12th edition of the Shri B.K Birla Memorial Thought Conclave. The conclave was organized and hosted by the BK Birla Centre for Education, Pune, Maharashtra from September 29-30, 2020. Our team spoke against the motion on the topic, “Free media in India is an oxymoron”.

Purab Seth Class X of the Emerald Heights was selected in the Indian National Debating Squad 2020 for the Online World Schools Debating Championship 2020, world’s most prestigious debating competition for high school students. There were more than thousand students from all across the country competing. A team of five students was selected and trained for more than five months by the Indian Schools Debating Society to participate in the world championship. The team was trained by some of the best debaters of the world, including Dhruva Bhat (Harvard and Oxford), Sayeqa Islam (one of the world’s best debating coaches) and Varshini Venkatesh. The competition was originally supposed to take place in Mexico, but was taken online due to COVID-19 global pandemic. There were more than sixty countries participated in the championship. Team India beat Indonesia, Mongolia, Bangladesh and New Zealand on motions ranging from “This House prefers a world where all land was held in government trust and leased out on limited-term contracts” to “This House would replace human judgment with computer algorithms in criminal sentencing decisions.” Team India stood among the Top-12 teams in their division.

 Purab Seth Class-X of our school was selected by the Indian Schools Debating Society in the world’s prestigious and largest debating competition for students under 15, International Competition for Young Debaters. The competition was organized by Oxford University and Cambridge University. In the competition, more than three hundred teams participated. Purab was selected to be part of the team of two and was trained by the Indian Schools Debating Society. The topics ranged from implementing a mandatory environmental draft system to forcing multinationals to follow the labour standards set in the country of their origin.

Mustansir Patheria Class-VIII of our school secured first runner-up position in the Virtual Inter School Speech Contest organised by The Stepping Stones High School, Aurangabad, Maharashtra wherein students from different parts of India presented speeches of the national heroes including APJ Abdul Kalam, Swami Vivekananda, Sarojini Naidu, Kailash Satyarthi and many more with great fervor. Mustansir presented Kailash Satyarthi’s Speech on Child Labour. He will be receiving a Silver medal and a certificate virtually and also a gift voucher worth ₹3000 from Amazon.com.

Emeralite Parth Karda Class-II received Best Performance Award in the Inter School Storytelling Competition on the topic, Once Upon a Time. The competition was organized by Ideal International School, Indore, M.P on October 17, 2020 under the aegis of Indore Sahodaya Schools’ Complex (Cluster-III) for Classes I and II.

VIRTUAL ENTREPRENEURSHIP SUMMIT 2020

Overall Championship Trophy at the Virtual Entrepreneurship Summit (E-Summit) 2020 organized and hosted by Choithram School, Manik Bagh Campus, Indore, M.P. from November 06-08, 2020. Our Team received the Best Presentation award in the Ideate Project event. The team members were Chaitanya Birla, Mahak Jain, Raghav Mittal and Anshul Sharma Class-XI. Naina Mundhra Class-XI secured first position in the Sell-a-thon event. Our students were competing against 15 schools from all across the world.

NATIONAL LEVEL COMPETITION IIT DELHI

In a National Level Competition held at IIT Delhi from February 09, 2020 by MakeIntern on the topic startup ideas based on Artificial Intelligence, our students bagged the third prize. They were awarded a trophy along with a cash prize of 10000. The students presented an idea for improving the privacy of internet users while getting personalized ad feed on all online platforms. INNOVATIVE COMMUNITY BASED SAHODAYA PROJECT 2019-20

In an innovative community based Sahodaya Project 2019-20, our school received the prestigious award for ‘Smart Hub based on Collaboration’. Our school team led the team of five other schools (The Millennium School, The Holy Convent, The Holy Cross Family, Yashwant Public School and The Gurukul Academy). The theme was Heritage Conservation wherein our students offered smart solutions for conserving the heritage of Sarafa – Traditional Food Street- ‘Sarafa Feeds the Soul’. From the zonal round of IRC School League Season-10 held at Prestige Public School, Indore, all the four robotics teams of our school qualified for the national round in junior and middle categories which was held at Thyagaraj Stadium, New Delhi from December 14-15, 2019. Our student secured the 3rd position in the Elocution Competition at AFS Global Peace Fest organised by AFS India at the Vidyasagar School, Indore, M.P. on November 15, 2019. In the National French Olympiad jointly conducted by Allianz Francaise Rouan (France) and Prayatna Educational Society, New Delhi our school bagged a total of 12 Gold medals along with the certificates.

WORLD SCHOLAR’S CUP

Our students won 92-Gold and 67-Silver medals at the World Scholar’s Cup Regional Round hosted by the Mayo College Girls’ School, Ajmer from April 11-12, 2019. The teams underwent Writing, Knowledge Test, Virtual Quiz and Team Debate. Our Senior Debate Team received 1st position Trophy and Team Scholars Challenge Trophy in senior and junior categories. All the teams further selected for the International Round.

IRC LEAGUE ROBOTICS COMPETITION SEASON 9

Our school teams won all the three positions in middle level category and one position in junior level in the zonal round of the IRC League Robotics Competition Season 9 hosted by our school on November 30, 2018, wherein 73 teams of 30 schools from M.P. and Maharashtra participated. The competition has three categories, junior, middle and senior. Our four teams have qualified for the nationals to be held in Delhi on December 14-15, 2018. The theme of the competition was “R-ME (Robots in Missions and Expeditions)”. The objective is to design robots and machines that are capable of conducting sophisticated expeditions to strengthen our defenses and for rescue operations.

All INDIA CHAMPIONSHIP ON CYBER SECURITY AND ETHICAL HACKING

The Emerald Heights team secured First Position in All India Championship on Cyber Security and Ethical Hacking, organized and hosted by the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Roorkee, Uttarakhand on March 23-25, 2018. The national championship was the part of IIT Roorkee’s Annual Technical Festival – Cognizance. The first level of the competition was held in respective schools in India and nearly 30 schools qualified for the final round of the championship.

Emeralites showcased Mathematics model in the CBSE Regional Level Science Exhibition hosted by AMNB Gujarati Samaj School, Indore, M. P. on January 11-13, 2018. WILD WISDOM QUIZ 2017 (WWQ-2017)

One of the students of the Emerald Heights International School was selected among the top 100 participants from all over the country for the second round of the national level quiz, Wild Wisdom Quiz 2017, organised by the World Wildlife Fund (WWF) and Discovery Kids. The competition was online and had three rounds, the first round was conducted on November 01, 2017 and second on December 01, 2017 in school. The quiz was conducted in 15 cities across India, reaching out to more than 15,000 schools. The quiz was conducted at Primary, Middle and Senior level. Asia’s biggest and India’s only national level wildlife quiz is organised every year to sensitize the students towards India’s rich biodiversity and natural heritage.

The Emerald Heights’ teams won the Zonal Round of the Eight Annual International Robotics Championship 2017 in both the categories, hosted by G.D. Goenka Public School, Indore, M.P. on November 07, 2017. The event was organized by Building Blocks, wherein more than forty schools of the state participated. The theme of IRC Open League is to promote the concept of “The Tomorrowland”. More than 2000 teams, 30,000 students, representing 800 schools participated at fifteen different zones of India. Our teams will be competing for the national level Robotics Championship to be held in Delhi in December 2017.

The Emerald Heights Robotics Team were the winners in the Robo-Soccer Competition organized by the Punjab Public School, Nabha on August 22-24, 2017 in collaboration with the Next Academy of Research and Robotics. SCIRE SCIENCE PROJECT CONTEST-2017

The Emerald Heights’ team secured second place in the Scire Science Project Contest-2017, Phase-1 on “New Vistas for Greener and Healthier Globe”, in Level-2 category held in Cochin, Kerala on August 21-23, 2017. The three days international conference on Current Trends in Bioscience (CTBio) – 2017 had Scientific Innovations awards – Scire Awards, Felicitation for Scire Science Project Contest and Scientific Sessions which included keynote lectures, oral and poster presentations and interactive sessions.

The Emerald Heights wins the P.G. Miller Memorial Quiz for the second year in a row and, 2nd Runner-up in the D.F. Jack Memorial English Parliamentary Debate, hosted by the Daly College, Indore, M. P. on April 14-16, 2017. In the preliminary round, Sahil Lalwani spoke for the motion, ”Women Make Better Politicians Than Men” and secured the second runner-up position. In the final round, Aaditee Juyal spoke against the motion, “Sports Do Not Promote Secularism” and bagged the first runner-up trophy. The team was awarded overall second runner-up trophy.

ANDROID APPLICATION

The students of Class-XII of our school developed an application with the help of Android Studio which could identify the frequency occurred at the current moment, example car honk, bike honk, doorbell, phone ring, etc.  As per the frequency the phone would vibrate in different patterns. With the help of this application we could successfully sense different vibrations and thus act accordingly.

WORLD DEBATE CHAMPIONSHIP

Dev Seth  and Sahil  Lalwani of Class-XI were selected as apart of a team for India in the  two  prestigious International Debating events:

  • The World Schools Debate Championship
  • The Asian World Schools Debate Championship

Under the competition, they actively participated in a three month long process of online debating on motions based on a wide variety of topics, from ethics to radical policies and world economy; these three months also required extensive research and formation of research documents by candidates. Subsequently, they were  selected for a two-day-long final round held online for the selections for the national team of high school debaters for the Asian World Schools Debating Championships, 2017. In the final round Dev Seth qualified to the National Team and ranked 5th overall among 300 applicants.

He is the first person to have made it to the National Team from Central India. He further wishes to foster a culture of parliamentary debating in Central India with Emerald Heights at its forefront. Later this year, he will join the National Team at Thailand and will compete against debaters from over 56 nations for the Final Round.

SOUND WITH WORDS

The Classmate and Radio Mirchi 98.3 FM launched Season-9 of Classmate Spellbee, the country’s largest Spelling Competition in Indore.

Our student emerged as the City Champion of Classmate Spellbee Season-9 and competed in the finals which were held at Mumbai. Here the Top-16 scorers from all across the nation competed with each other in an intense competition. In the Semi-finals Aman Palod Secured the I-Position in his group and thus advanced to the finale round where he was successfully declared as the Third Runner-up.

TECHNOLOGY FOR A BETTER FUTURE

A Science Fair was held in the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Indore on the theme ‘Science and Technology For Better Future’. Around 40 prestigious schools was selected in the First Round. In the Second Round around 25 schools were given prominence and the Third Round witnessed a tough competition with five schools as competitors. Our school team gave a tough fight to the Daly College, Lokmanya Vidya Niketan and Saint Marino. Our students Won immense appraisal and secured the I-Position. They also received Certificate of Excellence along with a Cash Prize of ₹ 15,000 and a Trophy.

Vox Populi is a Latin phrase that means “voice of the people”. Our school team had the prodigious opportunity of voicing out their beliefs and opinions in the VOX POPULI Inter-School Parliamentary Debate organized by Vidhigya School of Skills Academy. In an All-India Debate Competition at SDPS, Indore, Aadil Zakarya Class-VIII received great applause and appreciation and was awarded with a Consolation Prize. His topic was, “Is The Current Education System Capable of Inculcating Moral Values in Children ?”.

In the Hindi Essay Writing Competition at Vaishna Kanya Vidyalaya, Riya Upadhyay Class-VIII secured the Prestigious II-Position. She was awarded with a Trophy and a Certificate.

DRAMATISED ORATION

Shreyashi Pal Class-VI Won the ‘Delightful Dramatist Award’ on the theme ‘Friendship’ in  an Elocution Competition organised by ‘All For Kids’ Mumbai at the Daly College, Indore in which all the Prestigious Schools of Indore participated. Shreyashi was greatly applauded for her performance. This organization frequently conducts debate and for the primary and middle school student throughout the nation.
