The Emerald Heights International School hosts the 64th National School Games Shooting Under-14, 17 and 19 Boys and Girls Championship 2018-19 from December 15-19, 2018. The national school game was organised by the Indian Public Schools’ Conference (IPSC) under the aegis of School Games Federation of India (SGFI).
There were 1022 athletes from all across India participated in the shooting tournament. The participants represented twenty six states / units including IPSC, Rajasthan, CBSE Welfare Sports Organization, Kendriya Vidhyalaya Sangathan, Jammu & Kashmir, Jharkhand, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Manipur, Punjab, Tamil Nadu, Telangana, Uttar Pradesh, Uttatakhand, Vidya Bharathi, West Bengal, Andhra Pradesh Bihar, Chandigarh, Delhi, Goa, Gujarat, Haryana, International Board School Sports Organisation, Kerala and DAV College Managing Committee. The opening ceremony was held on December 15, 2018 in our grand Maharana Pratap Sports’ Complex (Khel Prashal). Shri Jitu Rai, Indian Shooter, was the Chief Guest of the ceremony. Shri Rai was honoured with India’s highest sporting award, the Khel Ratna, in 2016. Mr Muktesh Singh, President of the Emerald Heights graced the occasion with his presence. Also present on the occasion were officials from the tournament including Mr. Viren Bhatt – Chief Jury (RTS), Mr. Dhiraj Singh – Jury, Mr. Vipin Dass & Ms. Snehal Kadam – Classification Jury, Mr. Ram Chandran, Mr. Jitesh Kadam, Mr. V. Ganesh and Mr. Sanchit Agashe – Range Officers. There were stunning cultural performances by our students and impressive march past from all the participants. The closing ceremony was held on December 19, 2018 and the Chief Guest, Mr. Muktesh Singh, President of the Emerald Heights awarded the trophies and medals to the winners. All the officials were also present on the occasion.
