The Emerald Heights International School wins medals in different events of the 8th International Young Mathematicians’ Convention (IYMC) – Mathematica – 2018, organized and hosted by City Montessori School (CMS), Gomti Nagar Campus, U.P. from December 02-05, 2018. There were 77 teams from all across world participated. The competition had events including Solve-a-thon (Relay Round), Bingo (Mathematical Quiz), Math Wiz (Individual Contest), Mathmania (Team Activity Contest) and Modus Opera (Mathematical Drama). In this contest, students from a number of countries participated in different events including cultural night. IYMC-Mathematica hosts events exclusively for students at the the middle school level (14-15 years) and the senior level (16-18 years). Pratham Agrawal and Poorvam Jain of the Emerald Heights received Silver medal in Math-Wiz (individual contest). Pratham Agrawal, Poorvam Jain and Moulik Anand Mishra secured I-runner-up position in Mathmania (team activity contest).
More than competitions, IYMC Mathematica was the unique opportunity for our students to hone their Mathematical skills and also open up new channels of communication, building bridges of understanding and forging ties of friendship that transcend all barriers and boundaries. The 8th IYMC 2018 saw very enthusiastic participation of approximately 600 students from 18 countries across the globe namely Philippines, Bhutan, Taiwan, Vietnam, Thailand, Nepal, Brazil, UAE, South Africa, Indonesia, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Iran, Russian Federation, Kzakhstan, USA, Nigeria and India. This year too we hope participation of the same or even more. CMS, Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh is the world’s largest school as per the Guinness Book of World Records. The school presently has over 55,000 pupils.
